David brings boundless energy, quiet confidence, and a steady hand to lead the dynamic sales organization at Avitru. A veteran of construction specification technology, he arrived at Avitru through the acquisition of InterSpec, where he had been for over a decade, starting as a MasterSpec application engineer. David led the development of Avitru’s two-tier sales model that is now the standard in high-growth technology companies. Prior to InterSpec, David held sales and sales leadership positions at tech companies Ecora and Plixer. When not at his Old Port office, you are likely to find him hitting the golf links or tracking down the most exclusive beer selection in the Portland area.
Marlena’s background is in translating content onto digital platforms. She joins Avitru from zerve.com, a cloud-based aggregator of ticketing, customer service, and back-office support for tour operators, where she led teams focused on analytics, content, and syndication. Marlena started her career developing exhibits for the reopening of the New-York Historical Society and volunteering as an after-school teacher for at-risk students. She earned her BA in Egyptology at the University of Chicago and her MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business where she was an Arbuckle Leadership Fellow. Marlena is an avowed “New Yorker” but is now discovering life in the South. After hours, you are likely to find Marlena in the kitchen where she enjoys mastering new cuisines.
Gill brings to Avitru – in equal measure – insights in building architecture and software architecture. He joins Avitru through the acquisition of InterSpec, where he was founder and CEO. While at InterSpec, he developed patented technology for BIM-to-Specs integration before most of the industry had even begun to embrace BIM. An Architect for over 35 years, Gill spent 17 of those years leading a team of specification writers who completed hundreds of projects for clients all over the world. He earned a Bachelor of Architecture from Syracuse University and a Master’s degree in Architecture with a concentration in Computer Aided Design and Artificial Intelligence from California Polytechnic State University. Gill exercises his creative spirit as an artist, with works in both oil and watercolor.
As a registered Professional Engineer, Michael brings an extensive understanding of the technical and legal requirements for construction documentation and the innovative vigor to bring specifications to life for our customers. He joins Avitru through the acquisition of ARCOM, where he served as Director of Content Production, Assistant Director of MasterSpec, and started as a spec writer maintaining the Division 26, 27, and 28 (Electrical, Communications, and Electronic Safety and Security) sections. He came to ARCOM with 12 years of engineering design experience. As an active participant in the engineering community, Michael is a regular blogger for Consulting Specifying Engineer and a frequent speaker. He is a subject matter expert on sustainable design requirements for LEED 2009, LEED v4, the IgCC, Green Globes, and ASHRAE 189.1 as well as AIA and EJCDC contract documents. Michael holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from Drexel University. Outside the office, he feeds his competitive drive racing dinghies on local and international waters and is an aficionado of intensely spicy food.
