As a registered Professional Engineer, Michael brings an extensive understanding of the technical and legal requirements for construction documentation and the innovative vigor to bring specifications to life for our customers. He joins Avitru through the acquisition of ARCOM, where he served as Director of Content Production, Assistant Director of MasterSpec, and started as a spec writer maintaining the Division 26, 27, and 28 (Electrical, Communications, and Electronic Safety and Security) sections. He came to ARCOM with 12 years of engineering design experience. As an active participant in the engineering community, Michael is a regular blogger for Consulting Specifying Engineer and a frequent speaker. He is a subject matter expert on sustainable design requirements for LEED 2009, LEED v4, the IgCC, Green Globes, and ASHRAE 189.1 as well as AIA and EJCDC contract documents. Michael holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from Drexel University. Outside the office, he feeds his competitive drive racing dinghies on local and international waters and is an aficionado of intensely spicy food.
